Just completed experiential learning training through Diksha app.Felt glad ,rote memorization should be stopped completely.The parents also need to take part in this. Many a times parents compare marks and also insist on the marks to be scored that too byoby rote learning,one question is suppose changed in small classes parents question asking thisis not given in note book.It is high time we think about a change in our education system.Learning outcomes give a perfect solution.Child should be able to apply knowledge to the real life situations.This will surely help us instilling 21st century skills.Today, child has no scope to express his ideas. Teachers need guidance andhand experience to raise thinking level of the students.We speak of student center edn.without understanding the real meaning of this. Very happy that we are in the right path now . Let us adopt experiential learning and remember that every child is unique. Given a space they will grow to be creative,self depending , competent good human beings.
ReplyDeleteJust attended the webinar on experiential learning by Dr. Anju. It was a good insight. This will help us take it to teachers. Teachers can take it up in the school and would be wonderful learning for children.
DeleteAmazing to see the scope of experiential learning in classroom situation by going through training course in Diksha App. Learning happens by connecting the dots of past experiences in context to the present. The role of teacher is to create a space for providing the situations leading to the exposure and experience. Teachers role is very critical and not limited to the subject or a topic. Experiential learning is a collaborative way to look forward for 21st century skill set in which every stake holder has a major role to play in imparting quality education.
ReplyDeleteThe experiential learning course at DIKSHA platform is using various approaches like collaborative, engaging, interactive and reflective to make students understand the concepts at root level. The process creates good teaming between different stakeholders to attain educational goals. Ofcourse it requires involvement of knowledge community to built another community. It ultimately helps in dealing with pedagogical issues which currently the teaching community is facing alot while dealing with 21st century learners. However time shall be major constraint vs. the amount of content given to cover. I believe schools and teachers shall be empowered to deal with this so that quality in delivery of knowledge is not compromised.
ReplyDeleteIn true sense experiential learning is a need of the hour to build 21st century skills among the learners. Diksha platform indeed playing a vital role to reach out all stake holders in understanding the essence of true education. One who spare some time to navigate the platform will chip in and explore more, in turn gain lot of knowledge. I believe with ease of technology, M-education platform like Diksha will flourish as an alternative to face to face engagements.

ReplyDeleteInsightful session, students are given the opportunity to apply data and ideas in a real-world situation where they too play an active role. As the student interacts with the information, it becomes real to them.Experiential learning is one of the best ways to teach creative problem-solving. With real-world content, children learn that there are multiple solutions to challenges, and they are encouraged to seek their unique solution to hands-on tasks.

ReplyDeleteIt was really a wonderful experience as it will help children to deal with practical knowledge rather than bookish knowledge. Students will learn life skills which will develop their self confidence.
