This is Anita Shah on behalf of team Mahatma Gandhi International School, giving feedback on the project "Producing Paddy through Upland Cultivation."
DeleteThis is a beautiful and exciting plan of a hands-on action oriented project that can create interest by linking to the students’ world. It is the need of the hour for our future citizens to be self reliant, especially in areas such as farming for food, which is a requirement for their own survival. Meeting farmers, looking at natural fertilizers, organic farming, etc. can be linked to sustainable environment -friendly development, depending on the grade level that is targeted here.
The different processes are mapped in a sophisticated manner. The idea to create an interdisciplinary connection of harvest and folk dances is quite brilliant. They could compare aspects such as food preparations and seasons of different harvest festivals across India. The learning outcomes in different subjects are clearly identified. The end goal can be effectively met with elaborate planning, teamwork and cooperation between teachers, and time-management.
Sending the Project mapping.

DeleteProjects that help create awareness about conserving natural resources have immense value as well as a strong relevance to the student’s environment. The rationale and end goal are significant to the child as a future citizen and are clearly conveyed.
Some details have been furnished towards explaining ‘what’ the student will be learning and able to understand. ‘Importance and Myths about water’ as 'Initial representation', is a worthwhile learning experience. Planning how to make it action-oriented is crucial at this stage of mapping. If specific planning is done, it could become the 'Starter' activity as well.
Will they research, take a quiz, play a game? Even though ‘Water floaters’ is a very good activity to learn about which objects will sink or float, how suitable it is as a starter activity will depend on the age of the target audience and how you will build on the experience. When it is not followed up, then it remains a stand -alone activity.

DeleteThe learning outcomes in different subjects are broadly identified. The next stage could be to identify the age group and plan specific learning outcomes based on the needs of the age group. Specific, measurable, feasible outcomes which are relevant to the student’s curriculum.

Hi Oxford Public school,
DeleteDue to a small team and time crunch we are only able to pick up one plan per school. I hope you understand. However, with the feedback, you will be able to understand how to work on the others.
